Modern, organic, and wildly beautiful, a wedding weekend full of lush florals, good music, and effortless style.
When Jamie and Matthew started dreaming up their wedding, they wanted something that felt both elevated and alive, a celebration rooted in nature but with an edge. The result was a September weekend at Dawn Ranch in Guerneville that was undeniably them: modern and organic, wild and just a little bit edgy, layered with lush greenery, deep jewel tones, and moments that felt unexpected.
Dawn Ranch, tucked into the redwoods along the Russian River, has a way of making everything feel effortlessly beautiful. With its natural landscape and that golden quality of Northern California light in early fall, it was the perfect canvas for Jamie and Matthew’s vision. Guests arrived to a setting that felt both grounded and electric, like a wild garden had been given a sophisticated edit.

The design vision was bold from the start. They described their vision as “Modern, Organic, Wild and Edgy,” the palette drew from nature with deep pistachio and summer fern as the base greens, a nod to the orchard surroundings, then layered in bright citron for punch, rich mulberry for luxury and warmth, and finishing touches of Turkish rose, melted butter, and lavender mist for a whimsical, ethereal quality.
What made it truly feel like Jamie and Matthew was the contrast: all of that lush, overgrown organic beauty paired with bold accents of chrome and black. The mix of patterns and textures, from the floral-printed plates to the purple textured napkins, scalloped charger plates, and smoked glassware, gave the tables a stylish, layered feel that never tipped into overdone.
Three Summer Days brought the floral vision to life in full. The ceremony featured an extra-large semi-circle wildflower meadow made up of 14 individual arrangements, wild grasses, clustered accent florals, and statement blooms rising nearly five feet at their peak, tapering organically at the ends, as if growing straight up from the ground. Aisle markers played with sculptural negative space and varying heights, each one feeling like a singular moment. The bridal bouquet featured statement florals with dripping amaranthus and raw silk ribbon, while bridesmaid bouquets were intentionally mismatched, each one different, each one beautiful.
The welcome party the night before brought its own energy, with a brighter, more vibrant palette of poppy, saffron, plum blossom, and cantaloupe, a joyful, high-impact lead-in to the main event.

The weekend kicked off with a Friday welcome party, florals and fun, a chance for guests to arrive and settle into the magic of the Ranch before the big day.
On Saturday, Jamie and Matthew exchanged vows surrounded by their ceremony meadow, an installation that was as breathtaking as it was personal. After the ceremony, the florals were repurposed throughout the reception space, ensuring nothing was wasted and the full visual impact carried through the evening.
Cocktail hour offered a stylish lounge setup, a floral-printed sofa, sculptural black furniture, and a warm wooden bar adorned with asymmetrical arrangements. Dawn Ranch’s culinary team took it from there, with a menu that felt seasonal, grounded, and perfectly suited to the setting.
When it came to entertainment, Jamie and Matthew brought in a layered musical experience: Nick Foxer set the tone early on Friday evening, Lucky Devils Band brought the energy through dinner and into the first part of the evening, and WLDCT DJ kept the night alive well past the last dance. The result was a seamless flow of sound that matched every mood of the night.

A weekend this layered and considered takes a team that truly gets the vision. Huge gratitude to everyone who helped bring Jamie and Matthew’s day to life:
From the wildflower meadow ceremony to the chrome-accented tablescapes and the band that kept everyone on their feet, Jamie and Matthew’s September wedding was a true reflection of who they are, natural yet refined, organic yet edgy, and completely, beautifully their own.
