A FALL WEDDING AT SPRING RANCH
Jewel tones, family traditions, and a little bit of magic
Lauren and Alex imagined a wedding day that felt timeless, soulful, and a little whimsical, something rich with meaning, but still relaxed and full of warmth. Their celebration at Spring Ranch in Mendocino delivered all of that and more, wrapped in the golden light of late September and layered with deep fall color, handmade details, and heartfelt family traditions.

THE SETTING: SPRING RANCH IN AUTUMN
Tucked along the Mendocino coast, Spring Ranch is a place that feels naturally grounding. With its rolling meadows, historic barns, and ocean air, it set the perfect tone for Lauren and Alex’s day, peaceful, intimate, and connected to nature.
As guests arrived, they were greeted by soft light, the sound of the breeze through the cypress trees, and a feeling of calm anticipation. It was one of those settings that just lets everyone slow down and be present.
THE LOOK & FEEL: JEWEL-TONED, TIMELESS, AND A LITTLE WHIMSICAL
Lauren and Alex’s design vision was all about deep, rich jewel tones – sapphire, emerald, plum, chestnut, and marigold – set against soft cream and warm wood. It was bold without being flashy, romantic without being overly styled.
Three Summer Days brought the floral vision to life with ikebana-inspired arrangements full of texture, movement, and fall foliage. The ceremony meadow featured sculptural floral pieces arranged in a semi-circle, adding depth and softness without taking away from the natural surroundings.
For the reception, vintage Japanese obis (kimono sashes) were used as table runners, a nod to the bride’s heritage and family suiseki (Japanese viewing stones) were placed throughout as subtle, grounding touches. Ikebana-style centerpieces ran down the tables, echoing the soulful color palette and adding to the thoughtful, handmade feel of the evening.

THE CELEBRATION: PAPER ART, OUZO TOASTS & A LIVELY DANCE FLOOR
Lauren and Alex wove personal details into the day in ways that felt easy and natural. A close family friend created all of their paper goods, inspired by Japanese woodblock prints. Another family member made the bouquets and boutonnieres by hand, each one unique and meaningful.
The couple also included a Greek ouzo toast, a tradition that brought everyone together in a shared laugh (and a strong sip) after dinner.
Guests gathered for fall-forward and Mendocino sourced dishes from Uneda Eat Catering, followed by a stunning cake from Franny’s Cup and Saucer.
As night fell, string lights, lanterns, and candles transformed the barn into a cozy, glowing space. Pride and Joy took the stage and the dance floor quickly filled up. It was one of those parties that just felt good, music pulsing, people dancing, everyone caught up in the joy of the moment.
